2/12/2007 Fay's Shared Items updated: Beautiful SharonI know recently I am not keeping up the enthusiasm of bringing you the nicest photos I've seen, as compared to the days when this blog was just opened. But I feel the urge is coming back! These photos were just so beautifully taken that I feel obligated to let more people get to see them! Probably my strategy from now on should be, less words of introduction, and more updates!
Today I'm bringing you to my another favorite DP blog: Sharon, CT Daily Photo. As the subtitle of the blog suggested, "one photo a day of this lovely rural New England town", the blogger Jenny has shown the world this tranquil and peaceful little town in Connecticut, U.S.A. You probably wouldn't have known of the existence of Sharon without Jenny's blog, but luckily we do now. I've shared quite a few of my favorite photos of hers today. Please feel free to dig out more from her blog on your own!
2/10/2007 Fay's Shared Items updated: SunriseYay! It's Saturday again! I got to sleep until afternoon today -- very satisfying~! Especially with warm and soft Bella by my side. I miss this kind of long sleep, for I haven't been able to do that for at least two weeks. I know some of you might say I am lazy (which I admit) or this is not a healthy life style. But I need it bad both physically and mentally. So why not?
Well, with that being said, there's something I would have missed -- the sunrise. Supposedly if I could wake up that early, I would have been able to see beautiful sunrise in Boston, since the city locates on the east coast. Wait, I did actually get to see it once, when I was on a red-eye flight that arrived in Boston in the early morning:
Anyway, there's a way to make compensation for missing the sunrise! Luckily we have some early-bird bloggers from DP blogs that have caught one of the most amazing moments in nature using their cameras. I think you might like to see their work too. Let's be honest here -- when was the last time you woke up to see the sun rise?
Wish you a warm and cozy weekend!
2/4/2007 Fay's Shared Items updated: All about Super BowlSo, today is the big day, Super Bowl XLI, ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? This year we have Chicago Bears vs. Indianapolis Colts. Which team do you support? To regard the Super Bowl XLI, I've looked through Chicago and Indianapolis photo blogs, in the hope of presenting you the Super Bowl atmosphere over there. And here is what I've found. Enjoy! By the way, the game starts at 6:25 p.m. ET, broadcasting on CBS.
Whilst Bears and Colts fans are eagerly waiting for their respective teams to take the Super Bowl home, there are people grieving over it, namely the fans of the lost teams and merchandisers selling relevant products. Here is what I saw in the grocery store the weekend after New England Patriots was defeated by Colts (that was a heart breaking game):
But then again, even the products are 50% off, they're still over-priced. For example, the Patriots cap was $16.99, then the half price would be $8.49. Still rather expensive for me!
PS.
For those who don't know. Super Bowl is HUGE in the United States. I'm just pulling a few fun facts about Super Bowl from Wikipedia here:
1) Usually the most-watched U.S. television broadcast of the year; 2) The second-largest U.S. food consumption day, following Thanksgiving. 2/3/2007 Fay's Shared Items updated: Paying Tribute to CarsI saw the Disney Pixar movie Cars on DVD last night. A really good movie. No wonder it's in the box office Top 10 last year. From the past Disney x Pixar moives, I know this animation would be good in terms of, you know, visual effects. What I didn't expect is that it has something deep, something meaningful, some philosophy about life. At first I thought it was all about flashing cars, which would certainly be attractive to young boys, but probably not to a female adult like me. To my pleasant surprise, the story turns out to be much more than that. I don't want to give out any spoilers here, but here's a trailer to get you interested (i.e., if you have not yet seen the movie). The tagline "life's a journey, enjoy the trip" pretty much concludes the message that the producing crew wants to bring to the audience. And that's definitely something worth ruminating about.
